Series: Moneytudes
Sermon Title: Better to
be Rich or Poor?
Text: James
2:1-13
- Could you share a story of someone whose
attitude about money showed the true nature of their heart?
- Please share a story of church that showed
favoritism. How was the health of
that church?
- James gives the example of seating a rich person
in a favored place and making a poor person sit on the floor. What ways have you seen a church show
favoritism?
- The Great Inversion challenges what our culture
values. In your opinion, what are
ways we can value a person’s heart, instead of their money or status?
- Share examples of how we can love our neighbors.
- Have you ever been on the receiving end of a
random act of kindness? What did it
mean to you?
- Describe someone you know who is merciful. What is their source of mercy?
- What do we need to do at ADBC to make sure we
are a place of grace, and show no favoritism?
